Lump On Neck, Movable, Itchy Scalp, Panicking. Had A C Section. What Is Going On?
Hi! I have a pea size soft moveable lump on the left side of my neck! Nearer the back and just above my collarbone (about an inch or 2 above)! It doesn't hurt but does get sore if I keep touching it! I have no other symptom's apart from itchy scalp! I also had a planned cesarean 4 week's ago with my little boy! The Dr said not to worry and to go back in 4 week's! But I can't help but panic! Any advice would be gratefully received! Thankyou! Kirsty!
Hello Mam, Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM. After reading your query there are two simple possibilities of your problem: 1.Sebaceous cysts: these are due to a blockage in a sebaceous gland(produce oil in the skin). 2.Lipoma:A simple fatty tissue growth beneath the skin. It is painless, soft, movable lump. Both of these conditions are totally benign condition and not at all serious as you might be fearing of. Both can be taken out in just 5 minutes of simple surgical excision by either a surgeon or dermatologist. If the bump is small enough then can be even taken out by simple machine. But most of the tie we do not need anything actively. That is why your doctor said not to worry. Enjoy good time wit your baby!! Hope it helps. with good health wishes, Dr Sanjay K Kanodia MD ( Dermatology)
