Lump In Breast That Started To Swallow. Diagnosed Mastitis, Infrequent Menstrual Periods. Which Specialist To Consult ?

Hello,
I am a 44 year old female with infrequent menstrual periods starting around one year ago. Last May was my last period, in late June I found a lump in my left breast. Few days after, my breast started to swallow and was in pain, I visited my obgyn and I was diagnosed with mastitis and prescribed me antibiotics; I did a 3d mammogram and came normal but often I still fell the lump. The nurse told me not to get into hormones until we were sure everything was normal, I am afraid the lump is still there, after that I had 2 consecutive periods with regular bleeding. By this time was supposed to get my period and it hasn't come yet. Please guide me who I need to see, is the obgyn or an specialist? The insurance doesn't help so please tell me which specific labs I need to ask for.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M.Forum.
Irregular bleeding is common at this age due to perimenopause or menopause , so this is not a cause of concern.
The lump in the breast is a cause of concern.
In my opinion before going to lab ,consult surgeon and get in an excisional biopsy of this tumor .
Sometimes mammogram don't reveal exact reason of lump .
Good luck.
