Lower Back Pain, Pain Near Kidneys, Gets Aggravated On Moving. Kidney Or Muscular Pain?

I was assaulted about 2 days ago now and went accident an emergency regarding my ear. At this time my back was not hurting however now my lower back is aching around the kidney sort of area just below the ribs an I do not know whether this is kidney pain or muscular pain. It s does not hurt to touch and is slightly aggravated by movement but not much. More of just a dull ache.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

You have not mentioned whether it is paining on right or left side. If it is left side, there is the spleen and because you say its an assault, an ultrasound scan of abdomen is important to know if there is damage to internal organs. The liver is similarly present on the right side. If the ultrasound scan is normal then it might be due to muscular pain.

Hope this helps
