Light Vaginal Bleeding. History Of Having A Surgery For Ectopic Pregnancy And Removal Of Fallopian Tube. Warning Sign?
I ve just had surgery for an ectopic pregnancy , in which my right fallopian tube was removed. The surgery was on Thursday night and I was released from hospital on Friday night- having developed a hematoma above the incisions on my lower left abdomen. I ve been recovering well at home since, but have noticed some light vaginal bleeding , which was a warning sign on the notes I left with to call the doctor. Unfortunately I can't contact my doctor and was hoping someone else could advise me
Hello, This bleeding which you are having after the surgery is basically your body shedding thickened lining of uterus. This happens because beta HCG levels have dropped and so uterus lining starts getting shed. This process involves vaginal bleeding which can continue for few days to 6 weeks sometimes. If the bleeding is light and there is no severe pain, then there is nothing to worry but if bleeding is heavy and you start soaking a pad in less than one hour and if pain is very severe, then you should consult your doctor immediately or go to ER for reassessment. Thanks
