My knee hurts very badly when i walk, run, go up and down steps, and when i bend my leg. The pain is only on the right side though. I'm only 15 5'4 and i weigh 164 pounds. I'm also a cheerleader, when the season first started i was not having this problem. I don't know hwy my knee hurts like this and i feel like its getting worst everyday. What may this be?

Thanks for posting your query
From description it seems to be muscle or ligament strain. If it getting worse day be day it needs thorough examination and mri of knee to know the exat cause. So I suggest you to consult an orthopaedic Surgeon for the same for definitive treatment. In interim do hot fomatation, apply locally anti inflammatory gel and rest well.
Hope this will helps you.

Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in your knee could be related to a minor knee ligament sprain. An MRI of the knee joint will help in detecting the exact cause. Till then you can use an elastic knee brace and heating pad for relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL
