Jumped Off High Area, Landed On Feet, Ankle And On Butt. Extreme Pain In Lower Back And Ankle. Could It Be Serious?
Hi, I jumped off a pretty high area...about 17ft..and landed on my feet , mostly right ankle and then my butt. Now I have extreme lower back pain and same with ankle. I don t have insurance so I don t want to go to the emergency room but im afraid It mat be serious. Any suggestions? I can still walk buy very slowly and have a hard time sitting
Hello and thanks for query
It is too high for a jump any bone can got fracture by falling from such a height.
In your case if you have any deformity, Swelling or tenderness at the site if injury than it may be fracture of bone i.e. calcanus or spine bone. Their are less chances of fracture in spine bone because you are walking. But needs to be ruled out.
Don't be afraid to go to ER. get your X-rays done and rule out the fracture.
Till you get your X-rays done take complete bed rest and don't even to take chance to walk because an another single jerk to spine can cause serious complication.
Keep the feet side raised so that the swelling present in the ankle get reduced.
Don't hang your leg.
Take analgesic and anti inflammatory drugs.
Bear crepe bandage
Best Wishes
