Jaundice, BCG Vaccine, Ulcer In Mouth
Dear Dr. My baby is 8 days now. He is in Nursary from last 4 days because of Jaundice . Last sunday his jaundice was 18.8 but yesterday (wednesday) it was 12.2. Yesterday doctor give BCG vaccine to our baby. since yesterday afternoon he is not taking mother feed and doctor said it is because of ulcer in mouth . I want to know is that due to BCG vaccine or why? when my baby will be fine. today morning he didnt feed and i am worried about it.

your baby s bilirubin is below warning levels now.that mmeans he is safe from develpoing kernicterus(jaundice affecting brain cells).
After bcg baby may be reluctant to feed because he is being immunized by a mild form of tuberculosis.thats how vaccines work.
Vaccines infect you with mildest form of disease which it is used against.
So you need not to worry.
Important thing is to keep him admitted in nursery til doctors advise.
