Is There Chances Of Me Infected By Diabetes ?

I am a male and my age is 21 height 5 10 weight 65 .My father has been suffering from diabetes for the past 10 years. Initiallly he took tablets with low power. But now he is taking insulin in the form of injection. My question is Do i have more chances of being affected by diabetes if it is a hereditary disease ? and how to prevent earlier ??

MY DEAR SANKAR THOUGH DIABETES IS A HERIDITARY PROBLEM IT COULD BE POST PONED AND AT TIMES PREVENTED IF U CAN ACT EARLY. U SEEM TO BE OF THE RIGHT WT FOR UR HT, TRY TO MAINTAIN IT. EAT WISELY (LOT OF GREENS,MORE FIBRE RICH FOODS ,TIMING OF FOOD etc)take up regular WALK AND EXCERCISE BE COOL AND TOP OF IT HAVE AN CHECK UP AND COUNSELLING BE HEALTHY AND HAPPY

Hi Shankar,
Diabetes is the result of genetic disorder, other causes are also there. Check your blood sugar every year. Physical exercise is helping to improve glucose utilisation. A well balanced diet is also helpful.
