Hi Ranganathan, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Was he of the same build since you saw him or you feel has he lost weight recently? His BMI is 15.3 which means he is underweight secondary to Malnutrition which could be due to various factors as u said Depression. His Hemoglobin is also fine, may be he is not taking his food Properly due to some mental tension which is going on in his mind may be for months. You should be taking him to a Psychiatrist at the earliest if you feel he is depressed as he will need counseling and medications else you can take him to a Physician as he needs to be examined physically. Once the cause is cured his appetite will improve and he will start putting on weight and become well nourished.

Good Luck.

I have a history of binge drinking and am receiving counseling. My doctor has recommended regular weekly attendance at a group made up of people with drinking problems. I have resisted attending and am nervous about meeting these other people. I also am experiencing slight trembling of the hands and arms. I am pretty sure I used alcohol to treat my depression. In the past I had a very bad experience with an anti-depressant which actually worsened by depression. I have been sober for about one month.

I am an 18 year old male who was just diagnosed with celiacs disease. Confirmed by an endoscopy biopsy. I have severe stabbing pain in my lower right abdomen and fatigue. Everything was ruled out through blood tests and CT scan. ( That is when I had the blood work for celiacs done and it came back very high ) I have been gluten free for a week now--but pain is the same. Could I have bacteria in my small intestines?? The biopsy did show inflammation in my small intestines. Woud I have a fever if there was bacteria? I have been sick for over 3 weeks now..

Hi. I ve just received the results from my blood test for celiacs disease. I tested in the normal range (although I don t know what that means, exactly); however, since early last week I ve been watching the amount of gluten I ve been eating and calling myself going gluten-light since I haven t been able to completely remove it from my diet yet. I ve felt much, much better for the last week and haven t had any stomach problems. How likely is it that the test was wrong?

I have lower abdominal pain and bloody stool. The symptoms started over a week ago when on a ski trip and eating food outside of my normal diet(from a sketchy little restaurant). I went to a doctor and it was diagnosed as enteritis, and I was given a shot(I assume it was penicillin), and medicine to take with meals. The medicine has run out and the symptoms are still present. I am an English teacher in South Korea and so I have some difficulties communicating with my doctor and cultural differences in terms of medical practices. I have hypothryoidism and probably celiac disease (any gluten intake causes diarrhea, so I avoid gluten). I m a 23 year old male.

Ihave been suffering from stomach pain for as long as i can remember, but within the last 3 years i have watched symptoms consistantly grow such as hair loss, fatigue, and weakness. Within the last week my stomach pains have been noticably worse and consistant- daily, not affected by eating, only relieved with alcohol, which obviously makes it worse so i try to avoid. I also have been weaker than usual generally, fatigued and can t sleep at night. Sometimes during my workout my lips turn blue and i get pale. I was told i have leaky gut syndrome and suffering from malnutrition. But ive actually gained weight, probably because im so tired all the time...
