Hi doc, I have hyperthyroid w/ enlarged thyroid and nodules for over 6 years, I was given neomercazole for several years. the usual dose ranges from 15 to 20mg. Just this year, my FT3 and FT4 result almost doubled. When I consulted him 3 days ago, he advised me to take 40mg neomercazole so the thyroid activity (ft3 & ft4) will be under control.and in addition, since lately im usually running after breath and having faster pulse rate than before, he prescribed Inderal (10mg). I havent taken it yet. My question is: Is 40mg neomercazole safe for me, coz' lately, these 3 days of taking it (20mg morning & 20mg night) I am experiencing shortness of breath, sore throat, and palpitation? Lili
