Is There Any Problem For Pregnancy According To This Report?
hello. Am rohini, 4th month pregnant (second pregnancy) i had pain in left abdomen and went for Ultra sound scan, and result was Placenta Post US, Cervix Long. Will this cause any problem in my pregnancy. Doctor suggested complete bed rest. please let me know your thoughts
Pain in the left lower quadrant of the belly can be from multiple causes. We often work through the causes of this pain by first scanning the pregnancy. From what you have described, the location of the placenta is normal and the cervix is normal. While you did not mention whether there was concern about the fetal growth and fluid, I will assume that these were normal. So other causes of this pain might include your bowels (constipation, gas), urinary tract infections, and muscle/joint changes just to name a few. If there is no concern about preterm labor or the baby, then complete bedrest is certainly not indicated. Talk to your OB/GYN to get a better explanation of this recommendation.
I hope that this helps and good luck!
