Is There An Alternative Medication If Child Is Suffering From Asthma, Hayfever And Having Itching, Rash After Taking Loratadine?

My daughter is 4 and has asthma and hayfever and I have been advised by our doctor to give her a 5ml spoon full of loratadine every night, but she has woke up all itchy this morning with a little rash around her neck and chest, can I give her any thing else?

She can take antihistamines like Levoceterizine. Sometimes in young children they can get rash from other reasons like viral infections. If she has Eczema(Dry skin) you can try using emollients lotion liberally 2-3 times a day or more. If her itching it very troublesome you can use calamine lotion and Chlorpheneramine 2 mgs three times a day for a day and revert back to Levoceterizine 5 mgs daily at night.
