Is The Weight Gain A Side Effect Of Medication?

hi,I was done with heart attack 2 months back and as part of treatment angioplastry has been done.now i am using Ecosprin Gold 20 and olmezest beta tablets everyday from one week,but want i have observed is around 4 kgs body weight got increased in just one week, so iam confused with the side effects of olmezest beta tablet.please let me know to use tablets or not? Thanks,Prabhu

Hi,welcome to healthcare magic forum.
Weight gain is not an established side effect of olmesartan.But it can cause edema,which may cause weight gain.Anyhow,with such a rapid weight gain it is essential to look for the cause.You can discuss the issue with your doctor so that he can have a detailed check up.We need to look for presence of edema,decrease urine output etc.Also,may need a renal function test.
