Is The Nodule In Anterior Aspect Of Left Midlung Seen In Calcium Scan Is Same As That Seen In Chest Scan ?
My husband had a calcium scan last July which showed a nodule in anterior aspect of the left midlung zone measuring 3 cm. We followed up 2 wks ago with a chest scan which showed a soft tissue nodule in the posterior left costophrenic sulcus measuring 8 cm in diameter. Could this be the same nodule or do you think there are two different nodules?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The two lesions are at two different sites in the chest region. Nodules in the chest can be due to calcifies lymph nodes or due to some other discrete growths. These lesions need to be aspirated by fine needle aspiration. This investigation sample the cells in the lesion and these cells are stained. The stained cells are viewed under the microscope. this investigation tells about the origin and character of the lesion. Further management can be planned after the result of relevant investigations.
