I am 9 weeks pregnate and recently was in the hospital for vertigo. For the past 5 days I feel like I drank an entire bottle of salt and no matter how much water/gatorade I drink the salty feeling will not go away. Is this pregnancy related or related to the vertigo?
Altered taste can be due to pregnancy. Such feeling usually subsides after completion of 3 calendar months of pregnancy.
Nausea also is a characteristic symptom of pregnancy. If you are mistaking nauseating feeling with vertigo, please get is confirmed from your Obstetrician. In vertigo, you feel that the whole world is revolving and so you get feeling of vomiting. Though nausea and vomiting are the symptoms of pregnancy, vertigo definitely is not a symptom of pregnancy.
You should not take any medicine to control vomiting without Obstetrician's advice as many antiemetic medicines have adverse developmental effects on the baby in the uterus.
Please report to your Obstetrician ASAP.
