Is Muscular Pain With Numbness A Result Of Neuropathy?

My son. 15 began limping 10 weeks ago. He has muscle weakness in legs. muscle wastage in left calf, weakness in right foot, weak hip abductors, no achilles reflex and cannot stand on toes. All scans MRI s Xrays and blood tests have come back normal. He had a electromyography test that shows issue is neuropathy. He has no pain or numbness. As yet no definitive answer. He had the HPV vaccine 12 weeks ago. Our Dr is now looking at genetic diseases. Prior to this he was very fit and black belt at Tae Kwondo. His upper body is still strong. Any ideas as to the cause of this weakness and wastage? Thankyou

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
There is possibility of muscle weakness leading to inability to do exercises.
It can be due to muscular dystrophy which is a progressive muscular disorder can can present at later age.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level, sr CPK level, sr electrolyte and routine CBC.

You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief
Strengthening gradual exercises will help in regaining power again.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
