Is Medical Intervention Needed For Six Days Of Low Grade Fever With Productive Cough?

My 8 (almost 9) year old son has had a low grade fever for almost 6 days now. He also has a slightly stuffy/runny nose as well as a productive cough. I don't want to take him to the doctors if it is unneeded but the fever is bothering me. When given advil the fever goes down to normal for well over 8 hours and then gradually climbs back to around 101.5. Now it is the weekend and my doctor isn't in. My son is acting normal other than occasionally saying his stomach hurts but not often. He is eating and drinking fine as well. What should we do?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Paracetamol may be given to control fever.
Antihistamine like cetrizine will give relief from cold and cough.
Any way you have to consult pediatrician to find out the cause for fever and productive cough.
Cyclopam will relieve stomach pain.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
