Is It To Be Concerned About High Pus Cell Count In Urinalysis When Pregnant?
hi good day, i am 6months pregnant and i am worried coz my i got pus cells of 8-12 result of my urinalysis. i have yellowish discharges and i feel itchiness every time it discharged on my underwear. i am now undergoing treatment by my ob 7 days of amoxicillin 3 times a day. and my ob advice me to drink more water everyday. can this infection affect my baby? can you tell me what to eat and drink and not to eat and drink so i could get well easily. thank you and God bless you all.
Hi, I have gone through your question. Pus cells in the urine is indicative of urinary tract infection. Yellowish vaginal discharge which is itchy can be due to vaginal infection. I would suggest you to get your urine culture and sensitivity test and vaginal swab examination done, so that appropriate antibiotics can be started. Urinary tract and vaginal infection can affect the growth of the baby and can cause preterm labour ( Labour before 37 weeks of gestation), therefore it needs to effectively treated at the earliest. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr Deepti verma
