Is It To Be Concerned About Abnormal Bowel Movement?

I fell down a flight of wooden stairs 2 weeks ago. Went to hospital. Nothing broken, but my entire left cheek is a bruise and I have a huge hard lump right next to my tail bone that is pressing on my nerve. My back is also bruised above tail bone. Yesterday I was in much pain in both back and lump felt harder and warmer. Thought I needed to have a bowel movement but when i went, it was what looked like pus. Do you have any ideas? I'm a little freaked out since it happened 5 times already.

Hello,

Probably, you developed hematoma at the sacral area, and it may be infected which cause draining puss. Other possibility is post traumatic fistula around perianal area.

Please use sitz bath; use antibiotics like capsule Amoxicillin + Clavulanate twice a day for five days. Also, tablet Metronidazole thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved, please consult your surgeon, he/she will examine and he may drain the pus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
