Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife is being treated for Typhoid since last 10 days. She still gets evening fevers, though it has reduced from 104F to 99 and 100F now. She says her sex drive has increased a lot since last two days and she is forcing for a intercourse. Is it ok indulge in sexual activity at this stage of Typhoid?
Dear Friend. Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern. I don't find any reason for not having sex during typhoid. So, you can have that her, but it would be better if you use condoms. Only problem is that if it is not typhoid and it is viral or Tuberculosis it can spread to you through oral kissing and salivary contact. As such typhoid is not a contraindication of having sex. This is my best opinion for you based on available details. If you any have further query, please ask me. Stay Healthy Dr Anshul Varshney, MD
