Is It Ok To Have Pinkish Eyes With Discharge, Red Cheeks With Fever, Cough And Runny Nose In A 3 Yr Old?

My 3 year old has been battling a runny nose and wet cough for a week but now the whites of his eyes look pink and there is discharge from his eyes which look like boogers. His cheeks look red and he has low grade fever. Already been through the congestion a few times this year but the eye thing is new. Should we be worried?

Hello
It seems from the history that your 3 year old baby is having red eye with discharge associated with fever, cough and running nose.

This is because of infection of the conjunctiva called as conjunctivitis.
This requires appropriate treatment for the eye condition by using suitable antibiotic eye drops along with treatment for fever and cold.

Appropriate treatment is important to prevent complications. Hence I advice you to consult eye doctor for examination and appropriate treatment.

Thank you
