Is It Normal For A Paroxysmal AFib Patient To Have Heart Palpitations?

Doctor. I have paroxysmal afib. found out when I was in the hospital for Stephens/Johnson .
I am on some serious medications like Propafenone each 12 hours, metoprolol, and warfarin. I also take lisinopril, glipizide, ester c, fish oil, metformin, At the moment, that is all I remember. The more I read about these drugs frankly scares me. I have too many drs. And, I have to really watch what they prescribe for me. I also am allergic to a lot of medicines.

I get a periodic way too fast heart beat in my chest, yet, when I check my pulse, it is normal. The electrical activity lasts about a minute or so. I usually notice it when I do absolutely nothing. I am overweight and have hyalgen injected in my nears about each year and a half.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would explain that your symptoms could be related to possible cardiac arrhythmia.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and performing an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG in order to examine better your heart rhythm trends and determine the type of arrhythmia.

Making some changes to your therapy may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
