Is It Advisable To Use IUD After Abortion?

Hi , i had a medical abortion on 24th jun a nd then on 16 th july it was confirmed that abortin was not sucess i again went on medicine and this time my doctor confirmed that a aborted sucessfully i had heavy bleeding all the way and two days ago it actually stopped but now bleeding started all over agin with lot of pain in my legs esp thies is this my peroid i want to get my iud done pls suggest is everything normal ?

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion as there is recurrent bleeding the completion of abortion should be ensured.It is confirmed by ultrasound.So I suggest you to go for ultrasound.Usually ultrasound is done 14 days after medical abortion to know if the abortion is complete or not.The bleeding might not be due to period.Anyway confirmation and definite diagnosis is made by ultrasound.Nothing to worry.After confirmation IUCD can be planned.The excess bleeding leads to weakness of legs.Also check your HB level to rule out anaemia.
