Hallow Dear,
Yes, hear burn and
nausea may be symptoms of pregnancy; however, they show up only after a week of the missed period.
Missing a period is the first cardinal symptom of early pregnancy. The other symptoms like nausea &
vomiting,
frequent urination and breast symptoms appear 8-10 days after missing a period. If you have not missed your period as yet, nausea and heart burn cannot be due to pregnancy. Wait for your menses and then think of pregnancy.
If at all you want to take pregnancy test; you have following options:
1. Pregnancy test on overnight first morning urine sample a week after the missed period; earlier these tests may report false negative.
2.
Beta hCG test on blood 10 days after the last
unprotected intercourse. Values more than 25 mIU/ml are diagnostic of pregnancy while in non-pregnant state, the values report less than 5 mIU/ml.
You have been irregular on oral
contraceptive pills; though now you have discontinued them. They can cause nausea and heart burn due to increasing acidity in the stomach and its effect on the liver. Some antacids like
Pantoprazole and/or Gelucil will give you release from heart burn. Nausea will take its own time to disappear. Banana or Melon fruit salad in cold milk is very good to minimize nausea due to any cause.
I hope this helps you.
