Is Hashimoto Thyroiditis And B12 Deficiency Causing Joint Pain?

I have Hashimoto Thyroiditis and B12 defiency that are being treated. I have developed high blood pressure very quickly (140 or 150's over 100) and am concerned that it may be secondary hypertension caused by something undiagnosed. I also have tingling in my extremities and back and muscle and joint pain. I have had nerve conduction tests and an MRI of my brain and neck giving no answers. I have an appointment with my primary care doctor today and I am trying to have some ideas or questions prepared as it took a very long time for any physician to diagnose and treat my thyroid disease and B12 defiency.

Hi,

Hashimoto's hypothyroidism and B12 deficiency can be part of same auto immune disorders. This auto immunity can affect your joints also leading to rheumatoid arthritis or conditions like that.

What is your age and sex?
Do you have a family history of Hypertension?
How many drugs you are on for hypertension?

If you are an unusual age or without family history or on multiple medications for hypertension you should be evaluated for secondary causes. The physician usually will do an ultrasound doppler of your kidneys and some hormonal tests.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
