Is Gestational Diabetes, Suggestive With FBS Of 4.5mmol/L?
Hello!! I just received my glucose tolerance test results for testing of Gestational Diabetes. I had the 2 hour test with the 100 gms of glucose: My results are: Fasting Glucose: 4.5 mmol/L 1 Hour: 9.9mmol/L 2 Hour: 5.1 mmol/L From what I ve read im in the normal range but the 9.9 puts me just under the 180mg normal range. Does It look like I don t have gestatin diabetetes??/ Thankyou Also, even though the one hour is almost at the cut off, is it more important with the fasting and the two hour result???
Dear Madam, Welcome to HCM Went through your GTT values. They seem to be fine right now. Only thing is that you need to be slightly careful with your carbs intake. I do understand that during pregnancy we cant cut down food too much as it will not help in the development of the fetus. i am not sure in which month of pregnancy you are in but i would suggest you to repeat GTT after month due to these borderline values. Hope i answered your query Dr.Riyaz Sheriff
