Is Flying Safe While Having Scabs Sloughing Off, Red Blood Scab, Ear Pain Afater Having Tonsillectomy?
I am 26 y/o that had a tonsillectomy 8 days ago. I am scheduled to fly home ( only 40 min flight) on post op day 10. I now have scabs sloughing off with that awful taste and one site has a red blood scab. I haven t eaten but a saucers worth of food in the past week. I have awful ear pain and I was wondering if the trip home should be postponed due to ear pain, lethargy, & potential to bleed? My doc said I should be fine but I am looking for another opinion. Thank you
no i would suggest you not to fly fir another 5 days. as you have a red scab at the site, there mught be some fresh bleeding spot that is taking time to clot. pressure changes can dislodge the scab and be troublesome
