Hi my girlfriend and I had sex and the condom broke on the day after her last period ended. We got an emergency contraceptive as well as she was on birth control. Now her period has been two days late and she started experiencing some cramps and got some spotting. Is this normal? Is this something to be concerned with for either her health or a pregnancy or is this just what is kind of expected?
well as you mentioned that she was already on a birth control pill and she took an emergency contraception also, so these delayed and scanty menses are a known side effects of emergency contraception . her periods may stand irregular for next 2 cycles and the next cycle she may have heavy bleeding as well. so its not pregnancy for sure , just that one has to cope up with the hormonal excess which the body was subjected to after emergency contraception.
