hi i had the copper coil fitted one year ago. For the last 3 months , i have been spotting in between. And last night i had a bit of bleeding; just like a period is about to start. I had my my period just 18 days ago and my periods are normally 28-29days. Is that normal?
Hi, I have gone through your query and i can understand your anxiety.
Usually following IUD insertion people might experience symptoms like cramping & on & off bleeding /spotting (brownish discharge), abdominal/pelvic pain,headache/migraine, back pain etc. These symptoms will settle within 6months to 1year.
I advice you to, - look for the effective lifespan of the device - consult your gynaecologist for a USG pelvis in order to locate if there is any pathology & also for further assistance. - Also can take a course of depot medroxyprogesterone acetate or cyclic progestins d oral estrogens as per your doctor guidance, till the spotting stops
Hope i have answered your query. Let me know if i can assist your further. Take care.
