Is Black Discoloration On Gum Normal After Being Scraped Off?

My baby is teething. I was brushing his teeth when a piece if the gum came off where one of the back teeth was coming in. This was a week a ago. It bleed a bit. Now the tooth is coming in but it looks like the gum above the tooth is black. Like dry blood or something. He won't let me look in his mouth as he is so young. Wanted to make sure it's nothing to worry about.

Hello Dear,
Be relaxed as most Probably there is nothing to worry about. These signs and symptoms usually occur during teething. They will soon began to disappear as soon as the tooth erupts. During the teething stage, baby wants to chew as it gives relief to him.
Here I am suggesting few things which can make the teething period of your baby more easier.
- You can use a clean finger to massage your baby gums as it will provide soothing effect to the baby.
- You can give your baby teething rings to chew on.
- You can apply teething gel e.g bonjella(contains anesthetic and antiseptic) or NUBY (contains natural ingredients) 3-4 times daily. If you are breastfeeding, it's best not to give your baby teething gels just before a feed. They can numb your baby's tongue and make it hard for his to suck properly.
- If needed, give your baby an over-the-counter pain reliever that is labeled for his specific age.
Hope this will help you
Thank You
