Is Basophil Vount Of 4 Normal?

have recently been taking omnicef for ten days and had blood test as have non hodgins lymphoma all normal except elevated basophils (4)wbc 3900 is 4 really high>have also many allergiesin past this has been normal and wbc about 4.8 and is 4 really high? the doctor dod not seem concerned but did not explain it

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your basophil count 4 is high. But total leukocyte count is normal. So not a cause of big worry. Most commonly high basophil count is seen in chronic myeloid leukemia. But your total wbc count is normal. So it is not a possibility in your case. It is also seen in ulcerative colitis or myxoedma. Many a times no any specific causes found. So no need to worry. Just be relaxed. Take treatment according to your symptoms.
