Is Ofloxacin Ornidazole, Effective For Loose Motions In Infants?

my baby is 11 months old. for the past few days he is having frequent lose motions and the stools are green and brown in colour, sometimes blac too. he is active and eating well . since he has got diaper rash due to frequent motion he cries after passing stools after washing he is fine. I have not given him any medication, only breast milk so far. How good is ofloxacin ornidazole suspension?

Hi,

Previously it was thought that quinolones like Ofloxacin cause tendon damage in infants and children, although recent data shows you can give it safely in children.

I would still want to go for safer options like cefixime suspension. it is very necessary to maintain hydration status by giving him breast milk. If symptoms do not improve, then you may need to see your doctor.
