Is Duphaston Effective In Postponing Periods?

Hi , I want to delay my periods for only 3-4 days as my due date is expected December 5. So can I take duphaston 10 mg ? I wish my periods start between December 10 or 12 . Pls help me which date I start this medicine as I got this month period November 7. Pls advise me.

Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health issues.

No duphaston can not be used to postpone periods. For that you have to start oral contraceptive pill (containing estradiol & medroxyprogesteron) from 5th day of last menstrual cycle. You should continue this pill without interruption till you have to postpone menstruation (in your scenario till 10 th december). Menstrual bleeding usually starts after 5-7 days of stopping the pills.
