Is Dermology Brightening Cream Better Than Meladerm Lightening Cream?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? I would like to ask about Dermology brightening cream. I have read about Meladerm lightening cream extensively but what I noticed that if someone discontinue using Meladerm since it contains kojic acid, it will darken the skin later. Furthermore Meladerm makees the skin more senstive to the sun. Since you are experts is it the same thing applies to dermology brightening cream. And which is better please because I am hesitant between those two products? Thanks for your help

Hi,

Both products claim to reduce the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. Meladerm Lightening Cream contains ingredients such as kojic acid, alpha-arbutin, and licorice root extract, while Dermology Brightening Cream contains ingredients such as shea butter, arbutin, and allantoin.

Regarding your concern about Meladerm's use of kojic acid, some people may experience skin darkening if they stop using the product, but this is not a common side effect. As for sun sensitivity, it is important to always use sunscreen when using any skin-lightening product, as it can increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun.

Dermology Brightening Cream claims to be formulated to reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone while also providing moisture and hydration to the skin. It is also formulated with natural ingredients, which may be appealing to some individuals.

Ultimately, the choice between these two products depends on individual preferences and skin type. It is recommended to do a patch test before using any new skincare product, and to consult with a dermatologist if you have any concerns about potential side effects or interactions with other skincare products.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
