Is Dayquil Effective For Cold & Flu?

I have chest congestion. I was wondering if Dayquil-Cold&Flu will work for it.It says: Temporarily relieves common cold and flu symptoms: nasal congestion, cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation, sore throat, headache, minor aches and pains, fever. So does bronchial irritation, mean it relieves mucus for the congestion?I am 25 and I weigh 165lbs.
