Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum. If you have gestational diabetes you will be at the risk of excessive weight gain. Try and eat balanced meals and avoid junk and fried foods. Excessive weight gain can cause the baby also to be heavier.Pregnant ladies with hypertension can also have weight gain due to water retention in the body. This weight gain is mainly due to hormones and you will lose it after your delivery.Have six or more servings of fruits and vegetables. It will also be very difficult to lose all your weight after delivery if you become excessively overweight. Wishing you a happy pregnancy.
