Infant Has Loose Motions. Prescribed Vizilac. Is It Due To Teething?

Hello dr,
My baby is 9 months old and is suffering from loose motions. She herself gets fine in 3-4 days but after 1 day or 2 her loose motion starts again. My doctor prescribed me vizilac but later he stopped it by saying its because her teeth are coming. Her stool test is also fine.Don't knw what to do?Should I start her medicine again as its been about 2 weeks.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Teething does not cause loose motions.
During the period of teething the gums become tender and the baby puts everything in his mouth to chew because they feel better doing so.
This results in infections and may be responsible for loose motions.
Recurrent episodes of loose motions should be investigated further. Please take your kid to pediatrician for the same.

Continue to ask further queries.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
