Cardiac arrest occurs only if you have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. (The same can be detected by echocardiography). Cardiac arrest can be treated with implantable cardioverter defibrillator. You have got stage 3 hypertension. Check the function of your kidney (for microalbuminuria, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen), heart (for hypertensive heart disease) and retina (for hypertensive retinopathy.

Thank you very much :) My dad had a quintuple bypass in 2008, given a 2% chance to come back from a full cardiac arrest. He is now deteriorated (as a defib implant) to 10 - 15% function. I live in NZ he is in Canada. Basicially - how much time do I have to get home?

I often have an irregular heartbeat during the course of the day (5 to 6 times). I can feel gas moving around in my system almost everytime this occurs. I often have rapid heartbeats which are relieved by passing . I was hospitalized before because I thought tI was having a heart attack but after thorough testing (ekg, ultrasound, stress test, wearing a heart monitor at home) they found nothing. What could be a possible avenue that I can pursue to finally get rid of this or at least be able to treat it.

I'm a 21 yr old female having constant heart palpitations. I know what they are and what they feel like some are stronger than others but I feel them all the time. I don't have insurance so I haven't seen a cardiologist. I don't smoke, drink anything with caffeine, and only drink alcohol occasionally. Some doctors have said possible mitral valve prolapse. I'm just wondering what could be causing so many palpitations and also I have had them since I was 18 they are just getting much worse I also have chest pain just about every day.
