i have a sharp pain in my spine/ upper-back area. i can t move my head or left arm without it hurting. I can t hold my head up straight either. The pain was noticeable this morning but suddenly worsened about an hour ago. How worried should I be? What do you think is wrong?

Hi, I would advise an Xray of the affected part of spine (looks like thoracic and cervical spine in your case from your description). If these xrays appear normal and the pain is not controlled with pain killers, then I advise MRI scan of thoracic and cervical spine. Consult an orthopedic surgeon.
