I sometimes have a fluttering of my heart, followed by a small urge to cough. Also, sometimes it feels as though my heart is racing, but this doesn t happen all the time - just periodically. In addition, I have pain in the heart area periodocally (maybe averaging about once a day or so).

I have high blood pressure and my doctor put me on Diovan. I constantly feel like my heart is over exerting itself, even talking makes me feel like I can't breath and I'm constantly trying to get a good breath of air. She still wants me to take this medicine and I cannot function on it. Should I keep taking it.

My MPV came back at 10.7 fL, lab reference range of 6.0 to 10.8 fL. Platelet count is 216k/uL. All other CBC components look good. Full CBC is attached. All other tests related to the nephrology work up came back normal. Thoughts?

I recently had a pacemaker installed.I have gout (I khow it is not associated with the pacemaker) I have been taking a 0.6Mg Colchicine since then my blood pressure is always very high.Currently it is 201/107.It stays around this reading even though I take a 300Mg Diltiazem and a 320 Mg Diovan.daily.These medication seem to be ineffective in binging down my pressure.

Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Doctor,

I am 70 years old male with a heart murmer, apparently caused by aortic vale disease and a slight mitral valve deficiency as well. I take diovan 160 mg every day, plus 2.5 mg bisoprolol every day.

My BP today is 128/55 pulse 60. I seem by and large ok, but do get breathless if I exert greatly out of my comfort zone.

Is there anything else I can do to improve circulation and breathlessness.I am a non-smoker and non-drinker.

Thanks so much

David Bale
