I get numb toes when consuming a lot of alcohol

Hello. When i consume a lot of alcohol i get numb toes for anywhere up to five days after. I dont usually drink too much, about 15 units a week and dont have a problem with that amount but when i consume a lot of alochol my toes go numb, mainy my big ones. In the last three years i have probably had six big nights out for celebrations and consumed a lot of alcohol, binge drinking if you like, and on all of these occasions i have had the numb toes. What is causing this ?
