Hurt Ankles Causing Bruise And Swelling, Very Painful And Tingling In Foot. Is It A Sprain?

I hurt my ankle last night, and it is bruised and my ankle is swollen a little. It is very painful to put any pressure on it, and even when resting there is still a pain, but less intense. There is a sort of tingly feeling in my foot . I think it is just a sprain , but I m not sure as it hurts more than times when I have strained it before.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

I think you might have had a sprain of your ankle.

But one should rule out bone injury in such cases.

I request you to consult your doctor who after examination may order a X ray if required. If no bony injury is detected he may give you analgesics and rest advise if required.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
