How To Treat Vomiting And Diarrhea In A 2 Years Old Child?

My 2 year old daughter has puked once a day every other day for the past 6 days. She also has been having diarrhea every day (for the past 6 days) 2-3 times a day. Once today her stool was a clay color, and the next watery diarrhea. She hasn't been wanting to eat much either, it is very difficult to make her eat. Should I be worried?

Hi...thanks for writing to HCM....she seems to be having a bowel infection...give her oral antibiotics syrup like ofloxacin and ornidazole combination...which i usually prescribe to my patients... and an antiemetic and lactobacillus suspension...but for the prescription you need to visit a local doctor.

Give her plenty of fluids to make up for the lost fluids...an ORS solution will be the best....give her bananas and fresh curds to eat...she may like them and they are very good for the condition....
