I'm 30 years old, female, and have recently been experiencing vaginal bleeding that smells metallic, like a wound and not like a menstrual bleeding. The first time was after I had slightly rough sex with my boyfriend, but I've been bleeding about every 2 weeks. This last time I was masturbating, clitoral stimulation only, and now I'm bleeding again. That was 3 days ago, and the bleeding is pretty constant. Although not as heavy as a menstrual flow, it was heavy enough to stain my undies and through to my shorts. My periods had been fairly normal until around May, then my cycle started to shift. My period normally starts the Wednesday after the full moon, but I had 2 periods in May, was late in June, then early in July, and then the vaginal bleeding seemed to begin. I only became intimate with my boyfriend in June during the week I should have been on my period, but was late. What could be causing this vaginal bleeding, and how do I make it stop? There is some occasional cramping and abdominal pain associated with the bleeding, but rare, and not as intense as my normal menstrual cramps. It's more like the slight cramps at ovulation.
