Hello ,
Thanks for writing in to HCM.

Enlarged Adenoids is a common problem in small children. If recurrent infections occur frequently, kindly consult a Ear nose throat surgeon / Otorhinolaryngologist for further evaluation.

In acute cases first the infection is brought down by giving analgesics along with a course of antibiotic and then an elective surgery is planned to get rid of the adenoids (Adenoidectomy). It is a simple operation and has very few complications.

Hope this answers your query .
