Hi my 4 and a half year old daughter has a temp of 39 since last night and thou that comes down with calpol she was waking every hour complaining of her mouth hurting she appears to have a lump on the roof of her mouth that is very painful for her, what can i do to help her?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. Fever of one day without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If she is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days.
