How To Treat Fever In A 10 Years Old Child?
My sister is 10 yrs old and she has a fever of 104 now. She went to the doctor earlier today and they found a little blood in her urine and told her she was dehidrated. They gave her amoxicillin and told my mom to give her plenty of fluids. Is it normal for her to have that high of fever?

Fever of four days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever as usually most combination medicines combine Paracetamol with NSAIDs and is not advisable.
