How To Treat A Thyroid Mass That Shows Cytologic Stain In Radiology?
I had a history of thyroid mass which did not grow over years, but in the past two years the mass grew on the ride side compared to my previous ultrasounds. Its about 1.4 cm now. I had a needle biopsy in the office which was inconclusive due to lack of good number of cells. I recently had another needle biopsy done which had enough cells but the results are inconclusive. specimen examined in radiology suite raid cytologic stain. A TYPICAL FOLLICULAR CELLS OF UNCERTAIN SIGNIFICANCE. Given the radiological findings of 1.2 cm solitary hyroid nodule and the microfolicular architecture the overall findings are most consistent with atypical cells of uncertain significance. these cells may originate from a cellular area within hyperplastic nodule or from neoplastic fllicular lesion.
