I have mrsa and get reoccuring abscesses time to time. i was always told to be sterile to not to recontaminate myself and others. I was also told to stay as dry as possible. I can no longer afford doctor visits and they are not that helpful because i am allergic to sulfa antibiotics, which i was told is very horrible because is a top antibiotic for mrsa infections. My question I have is about an infection i got in my nose had this before same affected area i think all the mucus triggered this problem. just wondering if i cant take most antibiotics and draining isnt an option because the abscess is not large enough to drain. what are some alternative methods to treating mrsa. i have put ice cubes in my nose (very discomforting) and also applied rubbing alchol to outside of nose. the infection is in tip of the nose f.y.i. . also tried putting neosporin in my nose to help fight it as a try and also to keep mucus off of the affected area. please help. i cannot afford e.r. visits and want to take measures of home remedies since abscess isnt large enough to drain and since most antibiotics are not acceptable for my condition. i wish there was a cure for this bug but since i have to live with this disease i am hoping to find more remedies to cut down on medical bills. also i am only 23 years old and athletic build eat healthy dont use drugs or drink but do smoke a pack of ciggarettes a day if you need to know also i take protein shakes and bcaa amino acid vitamins and daily vitamins please help out it would be much appreciated
