How To Reduce Swollen Red Spot On Nose?

I have had a spot on my nose that looked as if a pimple was going to develop. It never did. The area is red and a bit swollen, it has been there over a month now. My skin is very clear normally, I don t get pimples except one around the time my period comes. I am on birth control pill. I take 0.2mg of Xanax as needed. I do not take any other medications.I am 50 years old. What can it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a foruncle.
I suggest using an antibacterial soap to clean the area.
I also suggest using Neosporin cream for local application.
If the pimple continue, I suggest to see a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
